With his wife and sons by his side, Gerry passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda; his sons, David and Christopher; sister Doris; sister-in-law Janet (Randy); nieces, Christine (Steve), Suzanne (Paul), Jacqueline; and nephew Steven.
A special thank you to Dr. Justin Ling for his excellent care over the course of Gerry’s illness.
Thank you to the WRHA Palliative Care Program for giving Gerry the opportunity to remain at home for a longer period of time.
We would also like to thank the caring staff of the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful and attentive care they gave to our husband and father.
A special thank you to Dr. Tim Hiebert for helping us navigate Gerry’s final hours.
A private gathering will take place at a later date.
